The Australian group has mined nearly every forgotten nook and cranny of psyche rock, surf, prog etc over fourteen studio albums. Fishing for Fishies is their first in a year, and this one is inspired by post-blues Boogie rock and our soon-approaching environmental apocalypse. āThe Bird Songā sounds like Of Montreal crossed with T. Rex, āThis Thingā keeps on chugging along amongst shrill flutes and honky-tonk riffs. And you gotta love that harmonica work on āThe Cruel Millennialā, a solid callback to jam bands of yore.Ā This is the US/ATO Distributed version of this record and is pressed on "U.S. Toxic Landfill" colored vinyl. (We think it's more of a "opaque marbled swamp green".) Includes a printed inner and 24x36 poster.
