The Story

Ambient house classic repressed! Originally released in 1989, Sueno Latino's eponymous track took the balearic sound from the beach sideĀ to the masses, eventually hitting #1 in some European countries. The trackĀ itself borrows heavily from Manuel Gottsching'sĀ influentialĀ krautrock masterpieceĀ "E2-E4," but adds a bumpingĀ 4 x 4 rhythm to grooveĀ as well as someĀ atmospheric accoutrements (peep those EMU Loon samples). The original "E2-E4" was about an hour long (talk about vibing for days), so Sueno Latino's condensed version was a perfect reworkĀ for the late 80's dancefloor. This 2015 reissue features 4 flavors of the track including the original Paradise version, the Agua versionĀ that adds a liquid ambient element, the Winter mix that shifts the focus from the guitar melody, and Derrick May's extra deep Illusion First mix. Recommended.
