The Story

The Album Leaf is a solo musical project of Jimmy LaValle, and Orchestrated Rise To Fall is AL's first full-length. In 1998, while LaValle was playing drums for San Diego band GoGoGo Airheart, Mike Vermillion, the singer & guitarist of the group, recorded Jimmy improvising on a Rhodes Piano (onto a vintage Roland drum machine), and the material became the basis for this 10-tracker. Consequently, it's all about ambient textures and soundscapes on this one, and listening to the instrumental LP conjures images of driving through a foggy, wooded area in the wintertime alone; trust, this is a good thing. An intriguing display of free-thinking post-rock, this is the limited edition gold marble pressing housed in a die-cut leaf cover. Download card included.
